Amazon.com Product Description
Be quick, pick the right colored hyper disc, and flick it under the arch before time runs out. The Hyper Slide from Hasbro packs three fast-paced electronic table-top games into one compact unit. Recommended for ages eight and up, these fast-sliding games for one or two players are fun and exciting for kids and adults.
The hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch. View larger. |

Fun, Futuristic Table Top Game
With its sleek, arched design, Hyper Slide looks like a futuristic game. Resembling a hockey game for a table top, the object is to flip the pucks through the goal. However, in these games the goal can be scored from both sides of the arch, and there are four different-colored pucks, called hyper discs. The game’s electronic unit calls out a color, and you must pick that color and sent it through the arc. It automatically detects whether you’ve passed the right disc or not. When not in operation, the hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch.
Three Games for Solo Play or Two-Person Play
The Hyper Slide offers a few variations of play for your enjoyment. Two lighted buttons on the top of the Hyper Slide make it easy to choose which of the three games you want to play.
While the objects of the games are simple, playing them can be a fun challenge. The first game, “Fast Pass,” is all about speed. The game commands a color and you’ve got to pass it through the goal quickly before the buzzer blasts. With “Add One,” you’ve got to remember the order of colors. You start with a color and add one to the sequence each time you complete a round. “Code Buster” gives you 90 seconds to decipher the secret series of colors.
Best of all, you can play all these games with a friend or by yourself. With both “Fast Pass” and “Add One,” you can even play head-to-head with another player or team. For solo play, the rubber “hyper band” is attached under the arch, bouncing the discs back to your side.
Put to the Test
Playing on any smooth, nonmetal surface, you’ll be surprised how much fun the Hyper Slide really is. An announcer’s voice, high-energy music, and sound effects move these games along. With your head in the game, you’ll soon block out all the noise and only hear the color to flick, slide, or shoot through the arch. Unfortunately, if the constant voice directions are not your thing, the game can’t be played without these sounds, nor can the volume be adjusted. On the plus side, the Hyper Slide announces your score at the end of each competition and keeps track of the highest score for each game. This electronic system runs on three “AAA” batteries (sold separately). If the Hyper Slide goes unused for two minutes, this smartly designed toy “goes to sleep,” saving battery life until the player buttons are pressed.
Pros
- 3 fast-paced games for 2-person and solo play
- Lighted buttons make it easy to switch through games
- Games remember high scores
- Electronic game shuts off on its own
Cons
- Game must be played with announcer and music going
- Volume can’t be controlled

Snowed in, heater out, the kids still loved this, didn’t notice the cold![]()
Although the age range for this one is noted as being for ages eight and up, I can personally testify to the fact that teens also find the Hyper Slide to be fun and challenging.
It comes equipped with five games and my son and a group of his friends spent hours in our living room, the only room with a roaring fire and some warmth, playing this game. They were laughing and cheering each other on in their attempt to slide the various colors of “pucks” or little chips under the arch of hyper slide - as soon as the recorded voice of the “game leader” told them which colored chip to select.
What is particularly clever about the Hyper Slide is its single player option. To use it for solo players, you simply take a rubber strip and insert it into the appropriate parts of the arch, converting it instantly from a 2 person game to one for an individual player. Very smart!
THere are five games of varying difficulty. The most challenging for our family was the one where a pattern of colors would be noted (red, yellow, yellow would be one example) and then an ADDITIONAL color would be added to that pattern so that the player would have to remember an increasing number of chips to slide through the arch, all in a given time limit. Try it and see how hard it can be.
Because of the different levels of difficulty, I have to rate this one high. It held our teen’s attention - and those of his friends - for most of a day and has continued to be popular.
Great gift!![]()
The Hyper Slide turned out to be so much fun! It is fast paced and challenging. I love it because even though there is a two year age difference, my boys play together all the time. Even their little sister has gotten into playing and loves the one player option. She is only four and is improving daily at the add one game. It helps her with her memorization which is cool. It doesn’t require much room, just a smooth table. Also, easy to put away with a compartment for all of the peices. Definately a perfect toy for the whole family.
Simple but incredibly addicting!![]()
We have now purchased 4 of these games as gifts, after seeing one at a demo last summer and buying it for ourselves. It is great fun for the whole family, and you can play 1 on 1 or by yourself. I’m not much of a “gamer” but this one is great!
Game will be a favorite in the family ![]()
I have always liked to play “speed” games, where you have to think and react quickly. My family doesn’t like to play against me very often, and Hyper Slide can be played by either one or two people, which is probably why I like the game so much.
Hyper Slide is an electronic, table-top game. You have to slide 4 color-coded Hyper Discs under the arch. Sensors detect whether you slid the correct disc or not. The game also earns instant brownie points with me for having pieces that store in the game, so all the pieces are together, and you don’t have to search for them when you want to play a game.
3 different games can be played with either 1 or 2 players. When you play alone, a stretchy “Hyper Band” fits in the unit so the discs rebound to you. When you play with 2 people, you can either play cooperatively or competitively.
The first game is “Fast Pass”. The game will tell you what color disc to slide under the arch. The goal is to get the highest number of completed passes in the time limit. The faster you pass the discs, the faster it will call out the colors. This is my favorite game of the 3. Needless to say, I have the record score for this one.
The second game is “Add One”. The game will tell you what colors to pass but will start with only one color. The next time, it will list 2. Each subsequent time, it will “add one” more to the list. You need to remember the order after it calls out the sequence and pass the correct colors through. It reminds me a little of the game Simon, where it would list colors and flash lights, and you had to push the correct buttons in order.
Game three is “Code Buster” where you need to figure out a pre-determined color sequence. It will tell you the starting color to pass under the arch. Then you need to figure out what the next color is (It could be the same color.) and slide it under the arch. If you are right, the game will ding, so you can keep going to guess the next color. If you are wrong, it will buzz and you will have to start over with the original “start” color plus any you may have discovered before you can begin guessing again. You have 90 seconds to figure it out.
The instruction booklet says ages 8+. My 12-year-old played this and likes it. I tried playing a cooperative game with my 6-year-old and she did OK, although she did get a bit frazzled when it said what color disc to move, and she did miss the arch a few times in her eagerness to move the right piece. I think with a little bit more play time, she’d probably do just fine with it, although Dale had a problem finding the colors quickly, too.
I think this game will be a favorite in the family for a long time to come.
